Pardon, but I believe Gordon Lightfoot was born in Ontario and raised there. I know he came out of the Toronto folk scene. Going to see him in three weeks.

Funny Neil story. I will be 53 in April and when I was a junior in HS they had a "talent show" on a Friday night in the school theatre. Three different guys got up and played Southern Man on accoustic.

I have seen Neil scads of times and some gigs were plain old crap, but it does not change my opinion that Crazy Horse is the best rock and roll band ever.

If you have access to Journey through the Past, check out the Looong version of Words or the rehearsal take on Alabama where he instructs Crosby and Nash on how he wants their vocals. THAT is killer, killer stuff. In 76 I was fortunate enough to see what I think was the last Stills Young band show, with Poco opening (Rose of Cimmaron tour).
